SKK Migas-PetroChina Hands Over Third Covid-19 Donations

Government Relations Superintendent PetroChina Mr. Saipul symbolically handed over the donation to Fachrori Umar, Jambi Governor who also head of Covid-19 taskforce in the province.

The 200 hazmat suits for healthcare workers would later be distributed to Jambi Health Agency; while 100 packages of personal protective equipment (PPE) that comprised of hazmat suit, N95 mask, surgical mask, face shield, goggle, gloves and rubber boots were distributed to Raden Mattaher hospital in Jambi; and 50 packages of PPE went to Daud Arif hospital in TJB.

“We hope this donation will add better protection for our medical workers who are fighting the pandemic,” said Vice President Human Resources and Relations PetroChina Dencio Renato Boele.

“As the operator of Jabung Block, PetroChina fully supports the government’s efforts in fighting the disease. We have taken maximum efforts to ensure the safety of our employees who work in Jakarta office and in Jabung Field,” he added.

All Jabung Field employees must fill the epidemiology background check prior to their field assignment, get regular temperature check and are instructed to avoid large-scale gatherings.

SKK Migas Southern Sumatra Representative Office head Adiyanto Agus Handoyo said that production sharing contractors (PSCs), including PetroChina, have implemented maximum prevention efforts against Covid-19. “Some of our policies include work-from-home system for non-field employees, strict social and physical distancing implementation for our field employees, conducting a rapid test and provide a quarantine facility and regular temperature check,” he said.

SKK Migas-PetroChina always works closely with the government to provide donations and assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic. Previously, on May 2, SKK Migas-PetroChina distributed 7,000 cloth masks, five washbasins and 10 bottles of liquid soap to the TJT branches of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Indonesian Apothecary Association (IAI) and Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI). PetroChina also donated 50 packages of PPE to Nurdin Hamzah hospital in TJT.

On April 1, PetroChina distributed medical equipment (including for disinfection purposes) and Covid-19 prevention brochures to the government of TJB and TJT.

In Jakarta, PetroChina’s parent company China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) donated a total of 70,000 surgical masks for healthcare workers, which channeled through Covid-19 taskforce in SKK Migas, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of Manpower.
