The four awards were handed over by Jambi Governor Al Haris in an event at the Jambi province manpower and transmigration agency’s office on July 29.

Three of the awards, namely for HIV-AIDS prevention in workplace (in Silver category), zero accident in exploration and drilling, and zero accident in production and service, are from the Minister of Manpower. The other award, namely for Covid-19 prevention program in the workplace (in Platinum category) is from the Jambi Governor.

PetroChina VP Human Resources & Relations, Dencio Renato Boele, said that the company thanked both the Ministry of Manpower and the Jambi Governor for their appreciations. He said that the achievements were the direct results of hard work and discipline of all PetroChina workers. “On behalf of PetroChina management, I wish to thank all PetroChina workers for their discipline in adhering to occupational health and safety regulations. At PetroChina, we strive to uphold these regulations in order to protect everyone at the company,” he said.

In its operations in Jambi province, PetroChina has always been committed to ensuring the health and safety of all its workers. In November 2020, the company received the Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha I award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for more than 60 million safe working hours without lost time incident between December 15, 2011 and April 30, 2020.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, PetroChina has continuously implemented strict health protocols in its work areas in order to protect its workers against Covid-19 while also ensuring smooth production activities. PetroChina routinely disinfects work areas and require quarantining and thorough health checks for all field workers before they go on duty in Betara and Geragai. All Jabung Block workers are required to wear mask when working and interacting with others, avoid crowds and wash their hands as frequent as possible. PetroChina has also reduced its meeting schedules, call off events involving large gatherings and distribute boxed meals instead of providing meal buffets.

“All of these are proofs that PetroChina has continuously supported the Indonesian government in the collective effort to curb Covid-19 spread and end this pandemic,” Dencio said. “Moving forward, we will strengthen our commitment to guarantee the health and safety of everyone in the company.”
