PetroChina Jabung Act. Field Manager Chandra Jaya symbolically handed over the donations to TJT Regent Romi Hariyanto and TJT Police deputy chief Comr. Ridwan Jason Maruli Hutagaol in an event held at the TJT Regent’s Office in Muara Sabak.

“PetroChina hands over these Covid-19 emergency aid packages to the Tanjung Jabung Timur regency administration and Police today. We hope that the packages will be distributed to the people who need them the most,” Chandra said.

PetroChina VP Human Resources and Relations Dencio Renato Boele said that the aid was a form of synergy between the government and the upstream oil and gas industry in Jambi. “Hopefully, our donations can help reduce the burden of people affected by Covid-19, both directly and indirectly,” he said.

Previously, PetroChina has distributed donations of 50 personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Nurdin Hamzah regional general hospital in TJT on May 2, 2020. Next, PetroChina handed over donations of 7,000 cloth masks, five washbasins and 10 bottles of liquid soap to the TJT branches of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Indonesian Apothecary Association (IAI) and Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI).

SKK Migas and PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. continues to give maximum contribution amid Covid-19. As people are facing financial and other difficulties during the outbreak, SKK Migas and PetroChina aims to ease their burden by distributing aid packages. SKK Migas Southern Sumatra Representative Office head Adiyanto Agus Handoyo said that SKK Migas continued to coordinate with production sharing contractors (PSC) to address people’s needs in various regions. “Right now, we prioritize distributing basic needs. Nowadays, people are facing difficulties in fulfilling their daily needs due to limited supply and surging prices of basic needs. We hope the donation can help them,” he said.

Adiyanto continued that he hoped the people would always support smooth upstream oil and gas operations. SKK Migas and PSCs are aware of the people’s concerns but the upstream oil and gas industry remains committed to Covid-19 prevention efforts. Among the prevention efforts are tighter health checks for workers in operational facilities, reducing crew change frequency, maintaining health security, requiring workers to wear masks at all times and quarantining workers during crew change. Upstream oil and gas operations must continue to maintain Indonesia’s oil and gas supply and prevent an energy crisis.

PetroChina management continues to coordinate with SKK Migas and relevant healthcare institution in Covid-19 mitigation in Jakarta and Jambi.

PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. is a Production Sharing Contractor (KKKS) as the operator of Jabung Block under the monitoring and supervision of SKK Migas. PetroChina partners with Pertamina and Petronas Carigali in managing Jabung Block. PetroChina also operates Bangko Block in Jambi.
