Upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas has appreciated PetroChina Jabung for its successful drilling of Panen-D10, Gemah-63 and Gemah-64 wells, which has resulted in increased production of 1,220 bopd and 4.71 mmscfd of gas.
Furthermore, the company’s Panen-D11 well has been spud and is currently in completion process.
“I have been informed that PetroChina Jabung’s production has successfully increased by 1,220 bopd and 4.71 mmscfd of gas from three development wells,” SKK Migas Southern Sumatra Representative Office head Anggono Mahendrawan said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Earlier this year, PetroChina launched its 2022 Drilling Campaign on 11 development wells in Panen and Gemah fields. The campaign’s first spud-in was on Panen-D10 well on January 21. PetroChina’s VP Technical & Business Development Yu Jinbao said that the campaign highlighted PetroChina’s commitment ot maximize Jabung block’s potentials following the confirmation of Jabung production sharing contract extension late last year.
In November 2021, the government of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, announced that PetroChina would continue the Jabung Working Area operatorship for the period of 2023 - 2043.
“With this opportunity, we will fully support the government’s production target of 1 million BOPD oil and 12 BSCFD gas in 2030,” Yu added.
Since operating Jabung Working Area in 2002, PetroChina has recorded stable performance through its main producing fields. In 2021, Jabung Working Area ranked seventh in national oil and gas lifting with average daily lifting of 15,436 BOPD of oil and 173 MMSFCD of gas.
