On Tuesday (21/1), in Jakarta, PetroChina Indonesia received an appreciation award from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry for its flare gas utilization program, as a commitment to support the government's greenhouse gas effect reduction program and "Zero Routine Flaring 2030" initiative.

The appreciation award was given by Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry's oil and gas technical and environment director Adhi Wibowo to PetroChina President Nie Changmou.

In his speech, Adhi said that development of companies' flare gas utilization program was among the ministry's strategic plans, as part of the government's program to boost domestic gas use and reduce gas imports. “This is in line with the direction given by President Joko Widodo and the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry to resolve deficit in trade balance and oil and gas current account,” he said.
