PetroChina Jabung continues its efforts to distribute information about Covid-19 prevention and control to employees. Between February 16 to 18, 2022, PetroChina Covid-19 Task Force Team hosted virtual Covid-19 socialization for all Jakarta Office employees.

The event, which was the first one to be held in 2022 and the eighth since 2020, provided latest updates about Covid-19 situation in Indonesia. This time, the task force team highlighted the increasing rate of Covid-19 cases due to new Covid-19 variant of Omicron. The event was expected to raise awareness about the Covid-19 threat among employees and their family members.

Almost 500 employees attended the socialization event that invited dr. Paulus Arka Triyoga Sp. P and dr. Astri Indah Prameswari Sp. P of Eka Hospital Group as guest speakers. Covid-19 Task Force Chief Riza Primahendra and PetroChina’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) dr. Sugih Firman also shared their remarks during the socialization.

Amid the new variant of Covid-19, which is much more infectious although with less heavy symptoms, and the soaring new Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, the speakers reminded the importance of strict health protocols. “The Covid-19 vaccination protects us from heavy infections. But the most important protection comes from the safety rules like washing our hands, wearing mask, managing the distance, avoiding crowd and limiting our public activities,” said dr. Astri.

dr. Sugih reminded that people with comorbid must take extra prevention efforts. “Some comorbid conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma could exacerbate the Covid-19 infection. Therefore, PetroChina employees with comorbid situations must monitor their health and take routine medication,” he said.

“Let us do what we can to flatten the curve, protect ourselves, our coworkers and our family members. Our business activities must continue, but we should do it carefully by adhering all health protocols,” Riza added.

As an effort to check the health condition of workers and their families, PetroChina has asked employees to report the daily temperature and any health concern through an application. In response to Covid-19 pandemic, PetroChina has implemented work-from-home policy for Jakarta employees since March 2019. Employees use the application to make work-from-office reservation.

PetroChina also provided Covid-19 vaccination for employees in Jakarta Office and Jabung Field. As of February 2022, 507 Jakarta office employees and 1,532 Jabung Field workers received two doses of vaccination. The booster vaccination for Jakarta Office employees was provided earlier this year.
