A total of 547 participants competed in 21 categories during the tournament, which took place between March 9 and 13, 2021.

Hosted under strict health protocols amid Covid-19 pandemic, the tournament was a highly anticipated event for sport enthusiasts around Jambi. The participants came from 35 badminton clubs in 11 cities across Jambi Province. The 21 categories were available for badminton players from various ages, including kids, teenagers and adults. The PMKM – TNJK Cup is regularly hosted to nurture the young talents from the province.

PetroChina’s Government and Relations Superintendent, Saipul, stated that sporting events brought many advantages for communities. “PetroChina supports local potentials, including in sports. Badminton tournaments are good opportunities to spot the young talents, so we are proud to support this event,” he said.

“We will keep supporting other sporting events in the future,” Saipul added.
