Apart from being one of the sponsors, PetroChina’s Exploration Support & Operation Manager, formerly New Venture Coordinator, Andri Syafriya was among the main speakers at the plenary session of the event.

This year’s ISPG Research Forum theme was “Recognizing Indonesia’s Geoscience Challenge: Towards 12 BSCFPD and 1 MMBOPD in 2030”. The theme responded the Indonesian government’s ambitious target of 1 MMBOPD oil production and 12 BSCFPD of gas production in 2030. The plenary session invited three speakers, namely Andri, SKK Migas’s Deputy of Planning Jafee Suardin and Pertamina’s Exploration Director Medy Kurniawan.

In his presentation, Andri highlighted few key messages on the topic. “PetroChina has always supported the Indonesian government’s programs in energy sector. As the operator of Jabung Block since 2002, PetroChina has implemented advanced technology that enables the block to maintain steady production for many years,” he said.

Andri said that the government’s target of 1 MMBOPD and 12 BSCFPD in 2030 must be supported by aggressive exploration activities, especially in eastern part of Indonesia. “The combination of aggressive efforts and advanced technology would contribute to the increasing production. If given the opportunities, we are ready to support the government’s goal,” Andri said. In the key messages, Andri also highlighted, “New Technology Implementation and Commitments, should go hand-in-hand, in order to achieve the national goal of 1 MBOPD and 12 BCFPD by year 2030.

As the operator of Jabung Block in Jambi Province, PetroChina works under the monitoring and supervision of SKK Migas. PetroChina teams up with Pertamina, Petronas and GPI Jabung, all of them as non-operating partners. Apart from operating Jabung Block, PetroChina also operates Bangko Block in Jambi Province.
