PetroChina Passes Audit on Anti-Bribery Management System Certification

PetroChina International Jabung Ltd.has passed the surveillance audit required to maintain the company’s ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) certification. Certifier PT Mutuagung Lestari, a member of the National Accreditation Committee, announced this on an official letter dated January 7, 2022.

Two surveillance audits were carried out through video conference interview for Jakarta Office and Jabung Field last year. The audits were aimed at ensuring that the company’s anti-bribery management system remained in line with criteria and that suggested improvements from previous audits had been carried out. Moreover, they were also used to identify potential improvements.

As preparation for the surveillance audits, PetroChina’s ABMS team both at Jakarta Office and Jabung Field had carried out the following: updating the company’s manual, guidance and procedures for ISO 37001:2016; identifying bribery risks in the company’s functions and activities; creating due diligence for personnel, business partners, projects and transactions; updating the company’s anti-bribery policy and setting up integrity pact/commitment for business partners; holding trainings of ABMS, gratuity control and whistleblowing system; planning and establishing ABMS awareness programs; conducting ABMS internal audit; and carrying out reviews.

PetroChina had originally obtained the ISO 37001:2016 ABMS certification on Dec. 15, 2019, becoming among the first oil and gas companies in Indonesia to do so. The certificate signifies that PetroChina Jabung has met the SNI ISO 37001-2016 ABMS standard requirement for exploration and exploitation of oil and gas.The ISO 37001:2016 ABMS certification is valid until December 15, 2022.
