PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. recently won the 2024 Mitra Bakti Husada award from the Ministry of Health as the best winner in the category of Maternal and Child Health in the First 1000 Days of Life, Stunting Prevention and Reduction. Communication Manager Afdal received the award at an event in the Jakarta Convention Center on November 9.

The awarding event was part of the ministry’s Health Innovation Festival (HAI-Fest), which was held to commemorate the 60th National Health Day. Individuals, companies and agencies received various awards for their accomplishments in healthcare.

PetroChina carried out stunting prevention and reduction programs in West Tanjung Jabung and East Tanjung Jabung regencies where the company operates as part of the company’s CSR initiatives. The programs are held in collaboration with various local stakeholders, including local government agencies, community health centers (puskesmas), village administrations and local healthcare workers. Included in these programs are providing anthropometry kits for local health centers, healthy nutritious meal packages and high-calorie milk for infants and toddlers, as well as training for local healthcare workers.

“It is our pride and honour that PetroChina Jabung receives the 2024 Mitra Bakti Husada Award. We have been involved in various stunting reduction efforts in West Tanjung Jabung and East Tanjung Jabung regencies in the past few years. This award provides us with a new spirit to prepare programs that benefit the people,” Afdal said.

Separately, Indonesia Policy Analysts Association (AAKI) head Trubus Rahardiansah said that he appreciated PetroChina Jabung for its continued support for local stunting reduction programs. The Trisakti University lecturer said that the program showed PetroChina’s real commitment for making real contributions to the areas where it operates. “Hopefully, oil and gas companies operating in various areas around Indonesia will make more contributions in the national [stunting reduction] program,” Trubus said.
