PetroChina recently received guests from members of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Universitas Gadjah Mada - Student Chapters (AAPG UGM SC) in a virtual company visit on July 1, 2021. More than 50 students from majors like geological engineering, geophysics, and petroleum engineering attended the event, which provided students with knowledge about internship and working opportunities as geologist and geophysicist in PetroChina.

The event was opened by Ginandjar, Communication Manager of PetroChina Indonesia. In his remarks, Ginandjar hoped that this event could give students some insights about PetroChina and the industry in general before entering the workforce.

The first session was presented by Fifi Fitrianti from HR Department. During the session, students are given the chance to gain information on internship opportunities for new graduates as well as how to do thesis in PetroChina for graduating students.

The second session was presented by Agus Heru Purwanto, Sr. Development Geologist. Students are given the chance to discuss about PetroChina’s roles in the Indonesian oil and gas industry as well as gaining insights on working in exploration and exploitation.

AAPG UGM SC representative, Iqbal Alibasyah said that he hoped there will be more of this event in the future. “We hope that this event is beneficial for students and we hope there will be more of this in the future,” said Iqbal.
