PetroChina Indonesia joined China delegation, led by China’s Head of National Energy Agency Mr. Zhang Jianhua, during the 7th Indonesia – China Energy Forum (ICEF) on September 3, 2024, where the two countries vow to increase their mutual partnership. The forum was taken place in Bali and hosted by Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), led by newly appointed Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
During the forum, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Deputy General Manager Mr. Ren Lixin presented the topic “Mapping out Indonesia – China Cooperation along the Silk Road: A New Chapter of Hydrocarbon Plus Partnership for the Energy Community with a Shared Future” to the audience.
On the sidelines of the event, General Manager of PetroChina Asia Pacific Mr. Jiang Qi, accompanied by PetroChina Indonesia President Director Mr. Qian Mingyang, attended a special dialogue with the Minister to discuss the potential future cooperation in boosting oil and gas production in Indonesia.
The CNPC team also met with teams from Oil and Gas Directorate General at the Ministry, upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas, Indonesia’s national oil company Pertamina, as well as other Chinese companies in oil and gas production and services.
The 7th ICEF 2024 discussed several topics such as sustainable energy development, energy transition policy and renewable energy. About 200 people including energy authorities, industry associations and business representatives from China and Indonesia attended the meeting, including CNOOC, Sinopec, China Energy Construction and Huadian Power. Secretary General of MEMR Mr. Dadan Kusdiana, SKK Migas Chairman Mr. Dwi Soetjipto and Pertamina CEO Mrs. Nicke Widyawati also joined the forum.
PetroChina Indonesia set up a booth at the event to promote the good performance in Jabung Working Area in Jambi, which has been operated by PetroChina since 2002.
