Other Jambi-based oil and gas production sharing contractors (PSCs), including Repsol Indonesia and MontD’Or Oil, also joined in this program.

PetroChina Jabung HSSE Superintendent dr. Frans Henny, who heads the vaccination program organizing committee, said that the vaccination was important to protect oil and gas workers from Covid-19. Upstream oil and gas workers were among the priority targets in the government’s Covid-19 vaccination program as part of the industry’s mission to produce 1 million BOPD and 12 BSCFD in 2030.

“Even after receiving vaccine shots, all workers must keep adhering to health protocols,” Frans said.

Meanwhile, PetroChina Jabung Government and Relations Superintendent Fauzan Ibrahim said that he hoped the vaccination event would help speed up Jambi’s vaccine rollout. “Now, we do the vaccination in Jambi city. Next, we will hold vaccinations in Geragai and Betara [operational facilities], so that all PetroChina Jabung workers will get vaccinated,” he said.

Some 280 employees of SKK Migas and PSCs received jabs on the two-part vaccination event.

PetroChina has continuously supported the Indonesian government’s Covid-19 vaccination program. Previously, over 400 employees of PetroChina’s Jakarta Office received their two Covid-19 vaccine shots in late April (for the first shot) and in late May (for the second one). The Jakarta vaccination drive was also coordinated by SKK Migas and involved over 50 PSCs.

In preparation for the Jambi vaccination event, SKK Migas and PetroChina Jabung held a discussion on vaccination for upstream oil and gas workers in Jambi on June 26. PetroChina’s dr. Frans attended the event as a representative of Jambi-based PSCs, alongside SKK Migas Southern Sumatra Representative Office head Anggono Mahendrawan, Jambi Health Agency chief dr. Eva Susanti and Sr. Comr. dr. Yolie Diana from the Jambi Police.
