Mr. Qian was accompanied by PetroChina’s Vice President SCM Mr. Gusminar, while the minister was assisted by newly-appointed Director General for Oil and Gas, Mr. Tutuka Ariadji, and the ministry’s Secretary General, Mr. Ego Syahrial.

Amid the pandemic of Covid-19, the brief meeting followed strict health protocols. Since being named as PetroChina President in Indonesia in September this year, Mr. Qian attended most courtesy meetings with some of PetroChina’s partners and stakeholders virtually.

On September 23, he also joined the first virtual CEO Forum for Oil and Gas Firms hosted by upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas. The forum was created to discuss the future of oil and gas operations in Indonesia.
