SKK Migas Chairman Dwi Soetjipto officially opened the forum, created to discuss the oil and gas production target of 3.2 million BOEPD in 2030, that attended by 98 leaders of oil and gas firms operating in Indonesia. During the gathering, Dwi said the oil and gas firms’ highest decision makers were committed to identify challenges and solutions to reach the production target.

“The leaders also share their concerns on the permit and oil and gas commercialization process, so we could develop new fields much faster. By the end of the forum, we are all committed to work hard to achieve the 2021 production target,” Dwi said.

The government has set the 2021 oil and gas lifting target of 705,000 BOPD and 5,638 MMSCFD respectively. “For us to achieve the target, we need to revise some of the work program and budget. We hope to start it as soon as possible,” he said.

Ego Syahrial, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said the government would support the oil and gas business players by providing more incentives. “We hope the incentives would improve the upstream oil and gas operations,” he said.

Qian, who was appointed as President for PetroChina operations in Indonesia in September, said he was grateful to join this event along with other executives of oil and gas companies in Indonesia.

“PetroChina in Indonesia is ready to support the government to set the higher production target and improve the upstream oil and gas development in this country,” he said.
