PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. hosted a festive event celebrating the 20th anniversary of Betara Gas Plant (BGP) at Betara Camp in West Tanjung Jabung, Jambi, on Sunday, 21 September 2025. Hundreds of attendees, comprising employees from Jabung Field and Jakarta, company management and external stakeholders, took part in the celebration.

President Director Wang Lei attended the event alongside GM Jabung Wang Heping, VP Business Support Alfiani and VP Operation Khostarosa Andhika Jaya. Representatives from SKK Migas Southern Sumatra Representative Office, Jabung block partners, and the governments of Jambi Province, West Tanjung Jabung Regency and East Tanjung Jabung Regency were also present.

The celebration was themed “Asa Melintas Masa”, meaning “Hope that Transcends Time”, reflecting PetroChina’s optimism of BGP’s sustainable operations through the years to boost Jabung performance and support Indonesia’s energy resilience.

Mr. Wang cut a tumpeng yellow rice as a symbol of PetroChina Jabung’s gratitude for BGP’s journey and also support from all stakeholders.

In his remarks, Mr. Wang reminisced BGP’s history since 2005. “When PetroChina began the construction of BGP in 2005, we visioned a facility that would become the backbone of Jabung operation. Today, BGP is all the above, and so much more. I wish to thank all employees, especially those stationed in BGP, for your hard work, dedication, commitment to safety and loyalty to the company.”

“With the full support from the stakeholders and dedication from our employees, I am confident that BGP will play even bigger role in the future,” he emphasized.

Attendees could join either a 5K Fun Run or a 3K Fun Walk around BGP Camp. Afterwards, they gathered on the tennis court, where there were booths promoting local coffee and snacks, doorprizes and special music performances from Jabung field employee band Decul and Jakarta-based singer Nabilla Gomes. Both Decul and Nabila rocked the stage in the tennis court. They sang with the audience and invited people to sing and dance together.

The event was more than just a celebration. It also reflected our strong collaborative spirit with various stakeholders to ensure smooth Jabung operations. It also holds our hope of a bright future, both for BGP and Jabung Block.
