“Currently, we still work from home due to Covid-19 pandemic. However, the regular crisis management plan and security exercise must go on. I appreciate the HSSE Dept. and other related departments for hosting this first virtual tabletop exercise,” said Qian.

The objective of the tabletop exercise was to respond to the scenario based on PetroChina’s Crisis Management Plan to identify gaps within the plan and to identify the necessary training for the staff involved in the scenario.

During the simulation, the management of PetroChina and expatriate staff prepared the safe evacuation process should a riot break in Jakarta. The process includes setting the chain of command during crisis, preparing the safehouse and evacuation route, and ensuring the availability of basic-life supplies, administration papers and financial supports.
