PetroChina holds Covid-19 online health talk

Amid work-from-home implementation, the Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Dept. of PetroChina hosted an online health talk about Covid-19 for employees on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

PetroChina medical officer dr. Boy Hidayat and dr. Fatia Rahma led the health talk, which was joined by 123 employees. A PetroChina employee who recovered from Covid-19 also shared some stories about medical treatment for Covid-19 patients.

The health talk allowed employees to get more information from health professionals about Covid-19, including risk factors and the significance of rapid tests. Employees also had the chance to hear from COVID-19 survivor, who had to undergo a series of tests in an isolated hospital room. The survivor said that taking care of the mental health was equally important to improving our physical condition. “Being in isolation can be tough, so we must find ways to keep ourselves entertained,” the former patient said.

PetroChina offices in Jakarta and field have taken a number of preventive measures to control the spread of Covid-19. PetroChina management has implemented work-from-home policy for all Jakarta Office employees since March 23, and run the daily temperature checks for employees and their family members. The Jabung Field workforce continue to work on site but are required to fill the epidemiology background check prior to field assignment. The company has also disinfected the key facilities in Jakarta Office and Jabung Field.

PetroChina has announced that two of its employees in Jakarta Office, who were previously tested positive for Covid-19, are now fully recovered.

The management of the company reminds all employees to dutifully practices social and physical distancing, avoid large crowds and stay home, regularly exercise and practice healthy lifestyle.
