PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. has proved its commitment to supporting the education around Jabung Working Area by distributing 1,000 sets of chairs and tables for elementary and junior high school students in West Tanjung Jabung and East Tanjung Jabung. The handover ceremony took place in Betara, West Tanjung Jabung, on October 18, 2025.

PetroChina’s President Director Wang Lei, Field Manager Jabung I Wayan Suandana, and Communication Department Manager Afdal symbolically handed over the education program to representatives of five schools around the area.

The ceremony was even more special as the CNPC team witnessed the handover ceremony and handed several copies of the Exploring Petroleum book from PetroChina to elementary school students attending the event.

“As the main producer of oil and gas in this regency, PetroChina is committed to always performing stable and safe operations. Our significant contribution to national oil and gas production is achieved because of the full support from the government and local communities in Jabung,” the President Director said.

“Therefore, investing in meaningful social programs is more than just an obligation, it comes from our sincere intention to support the growth of this area, and to improve the life quality of the people. Through the provision of 1,000 sets of table and chair for schools in the area, we hope to provide more comfortable environment for the students,” he added.

Apart from providing the school equipment, PetroChina’s education programs include education assistance for the poor and/or high-achieving students in West Tanjung Jabung and East Tanjung Jabung, college scholarships for several students to finish the diploma degree, as well as capacity building for schoolteachers.
