PetroChina in Indonesia - at a Glance

PetroChina began operating in Indonesia in 2002. Indonesia was PetroChina's first overseas investment destination. Over the years, PetroChina has developed itself into one of Indonesia's most prominent upstream oil and gas companies.

PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. (PCJL) has operated the Jabung Working Area in Jambi Province since 2002 and was recently granted a contract extension to further operate the working area in the period of 2023-2043.

In managing Jabung Block, PCJL works under the monitoring and supervision of the Indonesian government's upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas.

PCJL has often been noted for its good performance in managing Jabung Working Area, which is currently one of the top ten oil and gas producers in Indonesia and has increased its production in recent years.

Since it began producing in 1993 up to 31 December 2023, Jabung Working Area has booked cumulative production of 423 million BOE, comprising 97.06 million BOE of oil, 61.25 million BOE of condensates, 112.37 million BOE of LPG and 152.48 million BOE of gas sales.

As operator of Jabung Working Area, PCJL partners with PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Jabung, PT GPI Jabung Indonesia, PETRONAS Carigali (Jabung) Ltd. and PT Raharja Energi Tanjung Jabung.
