Deputy Head of SKK Migas, Fatar Yani Abdurrahman, and his delegation visited Betara Gas Plant (BGP) in Tanjung Jabung Barat on October 12, 2022. Accompanied by SKK Migas Sr. Manager of Project Management, Noezran Azwar, and SKK Migas Sr. Production Manager, Panca Desaf Nitasari, Fatar reviewed the plant’s preparation ahead of the planned shutdown scheduled for Oct. 23-30.

The SKK Migas delegation was welcomed by PetroChina Sr. Development Manager Budi Tyas Utomo, Field Manager Jabung Arief Hair Suseno, Operation Manager Deny Budiman, Project Manager Bambang Sukiyono, and Project Advisor Slamet Supriyanta.

As the operator of Jabung Block, PetroChina has planned the eight-day shutdown to improve BGP's performance so the facility can increase the production of condensate and LPG.

Throughout 2022, PetroChina has made various effort to achieve oil, condensate and gas production targets in Jabung block. Currently, PetroChina has completed 9 drilling programs from 11 development wells that have been approved in the work and budget plan (WP&B) on early 2022. Not only that, PetroChina also added drilling programs in 3 new development wells, so the total target of this year reached 14 development wells drilling.

Aside from the development drilling program, Petro China has completed 10 workover programs targeted in the original WP&B 2022, where 6 wells already produced contributed to 324 BOPD and 1.65 MMSCFD gas. Well service is also continuously implemented through the installation program gas lift pack off (GLPO), Gas Lift, Pump repair, wax removal, swabbing and production zone/layer replacement and has contributed production of 1,173 BDP oil and condensate, as well as 2.44 MMSCFD gas.

From these efforts, the achievement of oil production and gas sales has achieved 102% and 103% of targets. However, the production of condensate (93%) and LPG (97%) has not reached the target due to a decreasing performance of BGP facility so the separation of condensate and LPG not run optimally. Shutdown Program is expected to correct this condition. According to WP&B, target production of Jabung’s 2022 is set at 16,315 BOPD and 168.1 MMSCFD gas.
