PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. received two awards from Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas regulator SKK Migas in the 3rd International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas (ICIUOG) held in Bali on November 23-25, 2022.

The two awards were “Best PSC Process” and “Excellent Achievement on Watershed Area Rehabilition”. PetroChina VP Human Resources and Relations Dencio Renato Boele accepted the latter award on behalf of President Director Qian Mingyang, while Legal Manager M. Novita Adi accepted the former award.

The awarding ceremony was held on the convention’s final day.

PetroChina won the “Excellent Achievement on Watershed Area Rehabilitation” award for its rehabilitation and planting programs on 473 hectares of watershed area in Londerang River Protected Peat Forest and 40 hectares of city forest in Muara Sabak Barat district, Tanjung Jabung Timur regency, Jambi Province.

Meanwhile, the “Best PSC Process” award was to appreciate the punctual and smooth process of Jabung Working Area’s contract extension for the period of 2023-2043. PetroChina obtained confirmation for Jabung Working Area’s contract extension with a production sharing contract (PSC) scheme in November 2021.

“Ahead of the new contract period, PetroChina is grateful for these important appreciations from SKK Migas. We will continue our best efforts in managing Jabung Working Area professionally in order to provide positive impacts for Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas industry and the communities around our areas of operation,” Dencio said.

Apart from the two awards from SKK Migas, PetroChina also received an Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals Award (ISDA) in Silver Category for its Gerbang Lestari Ecological Park CSR program. In an event hosted by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD) in Jakarta on November 22, PetroChina Communication Manager Ginandjar accepted the award from CFCD chairman Thendri Supriatno.

Located in Kota Baru village, Geragai district, Tanjung Jabung Timur regency, the ecological park is managed by local farmers groups and combined the potentials of cattle farming, organic fertilizer development and an environmentally-friendly school.

Separately, SKK Migas Southern Sumatra Representative Office head Anggono Mahendrawan conveyed his appreciation for PetroChina’s achievements. “PetroChina deserves these awards. SKK Migas thanks PetroChina for its continued commitments and extraordinary achievements,” Anggono said.
