PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. (PCJL) continues to support land and forest fire response efforts around the Jabung Working Area, including in the Londerang Peatland Protected Forest (HLG) in East Tanjung Jabung, Jambi.

Since September 24, PCJL’s fire response team from the Geragai Fire Station Central Processing System (CPS) has been involved in firefighting efforts in the Londerang area. The team includes employees from HSE, Security, and Construction, supported by a light vehicle and portable fire pump with firefighting equipment.

As part of the Jambi Land and Forest Fire Task Force, PCJL has supported firefighting efforts at more than 10 locations across West and East Tanjung Jabung over the past three months. In Londerang, PCJL personnel worked alongside the Indonesian National Armed Forces, National Police, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Community Fire Awareness Groups (MPA), Disaster Resilient Villages (Destana), and other companies.

Head of the Bukit Tempurung Operational Area of Manggala Agni (National Land and Forest Fire Control Organization), Sandy Prabowo said the joint team was deployed to handle fire hotspots in the area. As of October 1, there was no active smoke and the Londerang area was clear.

PCJL has also supported fire prevention and preparedness efforts. In August 2026, the company provided 60 fire prevention awareness billboards and 120 sets of personal protective equipment to the East Tanjung Jabung BPBD.

Beyond firefighting, PCJL supports environmental protection through forest rehabilitation. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Forestry, the company completed rehabilitation of 513 hectares in HLG Londerang in 2022 and an additional 34 hectares in 2025, which were subsequently handed back to the Ministry.

Through firefighting support, prevention efforts, and forest rehabilitation, PCJL continues to work with government agencies and local communities to strengthen fire response and protect the environment around the Jabung Working Area.
