PetroChina received 70 students of various study programs in University of Pertamina in a virtual company visit themed “Critical Role of Petroleum Geophysicists” on May 20, 2022. The students, who were members of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Student Chapter University of Pertamina (SEGSCUP), joined the event through Zoom conference platform.

PetroChina’s geophysicist Muhammad Noor Alamsyah and HR training supervisor Fifi Fitrianti spoke at the event. In his opening remarks, Communication Manager Ginandjar said that he hoped the students would gain insights about PetroChina, corporate life and the oil and gas industry from the event. Meanwhile, University of Pertamina faculty advisor Agus Abdullah said that he hoped the event would help students learn about the role of geophysicists in the oil and gas industry.

During her sessions, Fifi spoke about internship requirements and process, as well as how to do thesis writing assignments (tugas akhir)in PetroChina. Meanwhile, Alamsyah in his session talked about the roles of geophysicists in PetroChina and in the oil and gas industry in general.

As the operator of the Jabung Block in Jambi, PetroChina is committed to supporting university students in gaining new insights. Holding company visits for university students is part of this commitment. The event with University of Pertamina students was the fourth company visit the company held this year.
