Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the PetroChina Muslim Community (BDI) hosted this year’s online Eid Al Fitr gathering on May 20, 2022. The second online celebration was attended by PetroChina President Qian Mingyang and hundreds of BDI members and other PetroChina employees.

Eid gathering has been one of PetroChina’s biggest annual gatherings for employees in Jakarta Office and Jabung Field. As PetroChina runs work-from-home policy during the pandemic, the Muslim community brought the gathering online for the past two years. This year’s gathering had the theme of “Productive Muslim: Faith and Productivity”.

During the opening remarks, community chairman Hendra Niko Saputra said that the community’s programs, including donations from employees for various communities in need, continued despite the remote working.

PetroChina President Qian Mingyang said that the theme of productivity was inspiring. “Let us have faith in each other, collaborate with each other, and make our company more solid and professional. With a great teamwork comes great productivity,” he said.

“Even during the pandemic, Jabung maintains its reputation as one of the best performing blocks in Indonesia. I believe 2022 will be another fruitful year for Jabung Block performance, as long as we keep up the good works and put the safety as top priority,” Qian added.

The gathering committee invited Islamic preacher Hilman Fauzi to give a sermon on how to be better and more productive Muslim.
