Hundreds of Students Learn More about Upstream Oil and Gas Industry

PetroChina, in coordination with SKK Migas and other oil and gas companies operating in Jambi, hosted ageneral lecture on the role of upstream oil and gas industry for hundreds of university students on September 7, 2022.

The event invited four speakers, namely Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Expert Staff Sampe L. Purba, PetroChina CSR Specialist M. Yuda Ramdani, Seleraya Merangin Dua’s Field Production Staff Andi Lowrens and Pertamina Hulu Rokan’s Asst. Manager HCBP Zone 1 Febry Sudyatmo.

Yuda said that the oil and gas industry contributed to development through the revenue sharing fund (DBH), workforce and employment for local talents, tax and retribution, and various social investment programs.

“Developing Jabung Block means so much more than creating profit for PetroChina, but for the development for Jambi people,” he said.

Yuda added that the social investment programs focus on the empowerment of the members of society around Jabung Block area.

“We hope that the local communities find their potential and improve their life quality,” he said.
