PetroChina health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) manager Alvin Reginald received the certificate from Baharkam chief Comr. Gen. Agus Andrianto in an event at the Baharkam office in South Jakarta on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020. Four other companies also received the Gold Reward certification, namely PT Paiton Operation and Maintenance Indonesia (POMI), PT Bumi Suksesindo (BSI), PT Petrokimia Gresik and PT Pupuk Kujang.

Alvin said that it was an honor to achieve the Gold Reward certification. “This is a proud moment for PetroChina Jabung.

“Let's take this as a good start for PetroChina as a national vital object company in Indonesia to sustain oil and gas operations by striving for continual improvement in security management,” he expressed.

Agus applauded PetroChina and the other four companies for having the strategic competence and meeting all criteria to attain the certification. Of 2,115 companies that manages national vital objects in Indonesia, only one percent have attained the certification.

Agus explained that security management system is an integrated system comprising technical guidance and audits on companies’ security commitment and policies, security standards configuration, security capability and monitoring and evaluation.

“National vital object companies have core businesses linked to the livelihood of many people and serve as the country’s strategic source of income. Therefore, implementing a reliable security management system is a must, in order to maintain smooth production,” Agus said.
