PetroChina Jabung Wins Prestigious Safety Awards from MEMR

PetroChina was one of only 14 companies receiving prestigious Patra Karya award, and one of 75 companies receiving Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha award.

Patra Karya, comprised of Patra Karya Raksa Tama and Patra Karya Raksa Madya, is dedicated for companies with high level of commitment in implementing oil and gas safety management system in their daily operations. In this year’s awarding ceremony, there were four companies that received Patra Karya Raksa Tama and ten companies, including PetroChina, received Patra Karya Raksa Madya.

PetroChina also won the Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha II in Without Loss of Work Hours Due to Accident Category. Since December 15, 2011 until April 30, 2021, PetroChina has achieved more than 66 million safe man hours.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrief, Oil and Gas Director General Tutuka Ariadji and other high-level officials at the ministry. Act. General Manager Jabung Budi Tyas Utomo received both awards on behalf of PetroChina Management.

“Amidst the pandemic of COVID-19, we are very honored with these two awards. As Jabung Block operator, we try our best to continue the operation and achieve the production target while tirelessly implementing strict health protocols for all our employees,” said Budi.

As PetroChina prepares to continue the operatorship of Jabung Working Area in 2023, Budi said that the awards served as a good start and motivated the company to improve the health and safety management system. “We thank the ministry for always monitoring our operation and encouraging us to put safety principles as priority,” he added.

This year, PetroChina Jabung received two PROPER Blue Awards for its Betara [Gas] Field and Geragai [Oil] Field from the Environment and Forestry Ministry. In maintaining and improving HSSE performance, PetroChina received the Occupational Safety and Health Management System award from the Ministry of Manpower in December 2020. PetroChina also completed the migration from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health and Safety which is integrated with ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management.
